“The Big 5”

The Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Rhinoceros, and Cape Buffalo are known as the “Big 5” safari animals of Africa. I was very fortunate to visit South Africa and observe these magnificent creatures in their native habitat. It’s hard to describe how amazing an experience this was. The lion pictured in the center of this drawing walked right by our vehicle with two other lionesses. She glanced over, made eye contact with me as if to say “yeah I see you,” and kept strolling by, exuding confidence. Maybe I should have been concerned, but was too caught up in the awesomeness of the moment.
