"Wrinkles are Beautiful" Pen and ink drawing of an African Elephant

"Puerto Vallarta Humpback" Colored pencil on colored paper. While on a Mexican Riviera cruise, I went on a whale watching tour with some local marine biologists out of Puerto Vallarta. It was a beautiful December day, and we were privileged to observe a pod of very active humpback whales. They were displaying multiple behaviors such as slapping the water with their pectoral fins and breaching. It was truly a magical experience to see those large bodies effortlessly fly out of the ocean.

"Quietly Observing" Pen and ink drawing of a Barn Owl. The reference photo was taken at the California Wildlife Center where I volunteer. CWC is a non-profit wildlife rehabilitation hospital. This owl was a patient at the center and was ultimately able to be released back into the wild.

"Smiling Koala" Colored pencil. One day I was going through photos, organizing and looking for ideas future works. It was kind of a cloudy, gloomy day. I can’t remember why, but I was also feeling a little down. I came across this little guy and his smile just made me smile. I knew I wanted to draw him. It was a fun little piece to work on. Hope it makes you smile too.

"Best Buddies" Colored pencil on colored paper. One day my husband and I were having lunch at a diner. While we were sitting inside, this gentleman came strolling by outside with his small furry friend. It was such a sweet scene that I took a quick photo with my cell phone, knowing I would want to create a drawing from it.
